This targeted 6-hour lecture workshop covers basic biomechanics, skeletal and muscular anatomy, and functional movement analysis. It’s designed for students with prior functional anatomy knowledge who need a refresher before certification. It is also a wonderful course for any yoga, Pilates, or movement instructor looking to expand their knowledge of anatomy for their personal growth and development.
Core Topics Covered
- Anatomical Foundations — Basic biomechanics, anatomical terminology, planes of motion, and joint actions.
- Musculoskeletal System — Skeletal anatomy, naming bones and joints, major muscle groups, and specific muscle origins, insertions, and actions.
- Repertoire Breakdown — Analyzing select exercises from the STOTT PILATES repertoire through the lens of functional anatomy.
Course Format
- Duration: A 6-hour continuing education workshop offering 3.0 STOTT PILATES continuing education credits (CECs).
