Hot Yin Yang

A Hot Yin Yang class is a dynamic and balanced yoga practice that combines elements of both Yin and Yang styles of yoga in a heated room. This class offers a unique blend of slow, meditative movements and more active, flowing sequences to create a comprehensive and transformative experience. The class typically begins with a more dynamic Yang practice, which involves fluid movements and sequences that build heat, strength, and flexibility in the body. This portion of the class may include sun salutations, standing poses, and more active transitions to help warm up the muscles and energize the body. Following the Yang practice, the class transitions into the Yin portion, which focuses on long-held, passive stretches and deep relaxation. In Yin yoga, poses are held for an extended period of time to target the connective tissues, joints, and fascia, promoting deep release, flexibility, and mindfulness. The heat from the room helps to facilitate a deeper stretch and release in the body during the Yin practice. By combining the energizing and strengthening elements of Yang yoga with the calming and grounding aspects of Yin yoga, a Hot Yin Yang class offers a well-rounded and balanced practice that addresses both the physical and energetic aspects of the body. Students can expect to leave the class feeling invigorated, centered, and deeply relaxed, with a renewed sense of vitality and harmony. Temperature 90-95 degrees

Yin Yang

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced and meditative style of yoga that focuses on stretching and releasing tension in the body’s connective tissues, such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia. In a yin yoga class, poses are held for an extended period of time, typically ranging from 1 to 5 minutes or even longer. The longer holds allow for a deep release and opening in the body, promoting flexibility and mobility. Yin yoga poses are typically done close to the ground and often involve seated or reclined positions. The practice also incorporates mindfulness and breath awareness, encouraging students to stay present and observe sensations in the body without judgment. Yin yoga is a great complement to more active styles of yoga and exercise, as it helps to balance out the body’s energy and promote relaxation and stress relief. It is suitable for all levels, including beginners, as poses can be modified to accommodate different levels of flexibility. Students can expect to leave a yin yoga class feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and with a greater sense of ease in both body and mind.

The instructor will guide participants through a series of controlled and precise movements, emphasizing proper alignment and breath control. Pilates reformer classes are suitable for all fitness levels, as the resistance on the reformer can be adjusted to accommodate different abilities. Participants can expect to leave a reformer class feeling taller, stronger, and more balanced. It is a challenging and effective workout that can help improve posture, muscle tone, and overall fitness. Most of our Pilates team has trained under STOTT PILATES and teach the STOTT PILATES method of instruction which emphasizes the 5 basic biomechanical principles of: breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, scapular movement and stabilization, and head and cervical placement. Because these are all level classes, teachers may introduce slightly more technical moves and dynamic choreography. While the instructors will still offer suitable modifications to accommodate the individual needs and objectives of each student, we ask that you pay attention to your body and back off it you are still new to Pilates.
