Kira Brazinski
“Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” B.K.S. Iyengar
Kira was born in Jackson Hole with a rare birth defect resulting in missing most of her left leg. Growing up in such an active community, she loved skiing, climbing, swimming, biking, hiking, horseback riding, and just playing outside in general. However, she experienced chronic pain due to the imbalances in the way she moves with a prosthetic leg. She found the cure for that pain when she began practicing yoga in 2011. In 2014, she completed her first yoga teacher training and joined Inversion’s team of instructors in a matter of months.
With the goal of sharing the magic of yoga and its ability to heal oneself, mind and body, the first yoga class Kira taught was for Teton Adaptive Sports. She has now expanded her passion by traveling around the country to teach yoga classes for amputees with Hanger Clinic through events like “Empowerfest” and “Bilateral Above-Knee Amputee Bootcamp.”
The teachers Kira has studied under are a blend of Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram, Dharma, Kundalini, Yoga Therapy, Sculpt, and Barre instructors with influences from Ayurveda, Jivamukti and Anusara Yoga.
Among Kira’s teachers are:
Inversion’s own Niki Sue Mueller, Ariel Mann, Sarah Kline, Louise Sanseau, and Jill Leblanc, as well as Bhavani Maki, Riji Suh, Brandy Lyn, Christopher Totaro, Ariel Karass, Darcie Peck, Marsha T Danzig, Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini, Esak Garcia, D’ana Baptiste, Roger Cole, Cameron Barker, Gwen Fellin, and Amy Feeney
