Tradition + Transformation
w/ Adam Rumack
IN THIS SESSION, we will explore becoming more intimate with our breath, our minds, and our bodies’ capacity to bend, float, and fly. Expect a slow, steady, and strong physical practice. Time will be given to exploring all eight limbs of the Ashtanga Yoga path as outlined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. An emphasis will be placed on pranayama and meditation, with a practical application of the yoga philosophy. This workshop is appropriate for all levels.
As well as being a yoga and meditation practitioner, Adam works for social change in California state prisons, corporations, and in the non-profit sector. He is a mentee of senior teacher Dena Kingsberg, practicing and teaching the primary, intermediate, and advanced series A under her guidance. Adam also owns Mysore Oakland, a thriving Ashtanga-based studio in California and is known for his passion for the practical application of the practice, inclusive teaching style, and supportive approach to helping students begin and maintain a daily yoga practice.
